A milestone in ASL drama, Sign Me Alice is an adaptation of George Bernard Shaw’s Pygmalion and Alan Jay Lerner’s My Fair Lady. Eastman’s reworking is a daring satire punctuated with laughter that challenges the stigma historically attached to Deaf people and their language.

Laurent Clerc: A Profile is an emotion-packed play about the Deaf Frenchman who sacrificed his personal life to lay the foundation for Deaf education in the United States. It sensitively portrays the period when Clerc made the difficult decision to leave France and join Thomas Hopkins Gallaudet on a teaching mission that defined the landscape of Deaf education in America.

Gilbert C. Eastman is a founding member of the National Theatre of the Deaf and was affiliated with the Gallaudet University Drama Department for more than 25 years until his retirement.
